Job Spotter

Apply like you have an executive recruiter working for you.

Your agent reads your resume, finds the roles worth your time every morning, tailors a resume you can defend line by line, and names the people who actually decide the hire. You stay in charge of every send.

For any role at a tech company, from graduate to CEO. Built by Ankit Sharma (Start2Scale).

How it works

Four things a good recruiter does for you. Now done every day, for you alone.

  1. Upload your resume

Your agent turns it into career notes: one living document where every fact says where it came from. Pick up to three target roles, or let it suggest some.

  2. Wake up to matched roles

Your agent searches SEEK and LinkedIn overnight and checks companies' own careers pages every day. Each role arrives with a fit score and one honest line on why.

  3. Get ready for the ones you pick

Three quick questions at most, then a resume tailored to the ad, the people who control the hire, and a draft for each of them.

  4. Ask for a referral, then apply

A future colleague first, then the company site, in your own words from your own Gmail. Your pipeline keeps score.

Coverage

Where your jobs come from

Many startups post every role on their own careers page and never pay for a SEEK ad. So your agent reads those too. Anything we haven't built yet says so: we'd rather show you a roadmap tag than claim a source we don't have.

  • SEEK

Searches written for you, run every night.

    Live
  • LinkedIn Jobs

The same searches, the same morning.

    Live
  • Company careers pages

Roles posted on the careers pages of the Australian and New Zealand tech companies and VC-backed startups we follow, checked every day.

    Live
  • VC portfolio boards

We go through the portfolios of Square Peg, AirTree, Blackbird and FinTech Australia to find more companies worth following.

    Live · finds companies
  • Google Jobs and Fantastic.jobs

To catch roles at companies we don't follow yet.

    Coming
  • Companies to approach

Teams that are growing, newly funded or newly led, before the ad exists.

    Later

A resume you can defend

Every bullet traces back to something you actually did.

Tailored to the ad's language, never to its imagination. Click any line to see the note it came from and the day you told us. Anything we can't trace back to you is flagged, and nothing downloads until you've checked it and said it looks right.

The people, not the portal

Finds who controls the hire, and drafts a note to each.

For every role you pick: the likely hiring manager, the head of the function, the recruiter, and the colleagues you could ask for a referral. Referral first; a moonshot to a senior leader only when you choose it.

A search you can see

One board. Every role, every message, every follow-up due.

The rules we won't bend

What your agent will never do

  1. Send anything for you. No auto-apply. No auto-DM. Drafts open in your Gmail or your clipboard. The Send button is yours, and you tell us who you wrote to.

  2. Invent a fact. Your career notes hold only what your resume said or what you told us, each line tagged with its source and date. A bullet we can't trace back to you is flagged, never slipped in.

  3. Spend a credit without asking. Names and titles are free. Revealing one person's email and LinkedIn uses one credit, and only when you click.

  4. Spam anyone. No mass mailing: a draft for each person you choose, and follow-ups only for the people you tell us you actually messaged.

Your data stays yours: your notes, resumes and messages live in your account, and you can export everything or delete your account from Settings.

What you get

The full recruiter's desk, without the recruiter's agenda.

  • Career notes

A memory of your career that grows.

Every answer you give is saved with where it came from, and you can undo it. Anything you've answered isn't asked again, so later jobs need fewer questions.

  • Daily feed

    Searched your way.

Plain-English searches for your roles, levels and cities, which you can read and edit. Tech companies first, or purely by role. Agency ads labelled, or hidden if you'd rather.

  • Fit score + why

A verdict you can argue with.

Good, Partial, Weak or Deal-breaker, with the one line that explains it. No black box.

  • Gatekeepers

    The people who decide.

Likely hiring manager, head of the function, recruiter. Names and titles are free; unlock email and LinkedIn one person at a time.

  • Referral first

Colleagues who could vouch for you.

People in the same kind of role at the company, who could refer you. Most companies pay referral bonuses, so they have a reason to help.

  • Follow-ups

    Nobody slips through.

When someone goes quiet, a short follow-up is already drafted for you. And if a referral ask goes unanswered, the job comes back to you, ready to apply.

  • Careers pages

    Jobs that never reach SEEK.

Startups and scale-ups post every role on their own careers page. Your agent checks those pages every day and matches what it finds to your searches.

  • Coming later

    Companies to approach.Roadmap

Teams that are growing, newly funded or newly led, before the ad exists.

  • Always

Open in Gmail, never sent by us.

One button fills the recipient, subject and draft in your own Gmail. The Send button stays yours.

Questions

Fair questions, straight answers.

Does it apply to jobs for me?

No. It tailors the resume, finds the people and drafts the notes. You apply on the company site and send every message yourself, from your own Gmail or LinkedIn. You tick off who you wrote to, so follow-ups only ever chase real conversations.

Will it make things up on my resume?

No. Every bullet points to the line in your career notes it came from, and those notes only hold what your resume said or what you told us. If the ad wants something your notes don't cover, your agent asks you instead of guessing: three quick questions at most, and you can skip any of them.

Who is it for?

Anyone in any role at a tech company in Australia or New Zealand: engineers and data people, and just as much recruiters, account executives, product managers, designers, marketers, finance and legal, chiefs of staff and executives. Graduate to CEO.

Where do the jobs come from?

SEEK and LinkedIn, using searches written for you that you can read and edit, plus the careers pages of the tech companies we follow (on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and others), checked every day. VC portfolios help us find more of those companies. Google Jobs is next.

What does “unlock” cost?

Names and titles are free. Revealing one person's email and LinkedIn uses one credit, only when you click. During the pilot, it costs you nothing.

Why “Job Spotter”?

Like a spotter at the gym, it stands by while you lift and never lifts for you, and it spots the right roles first. Job Spotter started as a small project to help a team of laid-off tech workers find their next roles. Now it's for anyone at any tech company in Australia and New Zealand.
