Privacy Policy

Draft 3 — 31 October 2026

Draft, pending legal review. This policy is being reviewed by a lawyer and may change.

This policy explains what jobspotter.ai ("the product") collects about you, what it makes for you, who processes it, where it is stored, how long we keep it, and what you can do about it. It sits alongside our Terms of Use.

1. Who we are

jobspotter.ai is run by Ankit Sharma (Start2Scale) ("we", "us"). For anything about your personal information, email ankit@start2scale.net.

2. What we collect

  • Your sign-in details: your email address and name, from the way you sign in (Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn, or email and password).
  • What you tell us about your search: your preferences and target roles.
  • Your resumes, as the PDF or DOCX files you upload.
  • Your career notes and your answers to Spotter's questions.
  • Your LinkedIn connections file, only if you upload it. We keep only each connection's name, company, LinkedIn address and email.
  • Your pipeline: the jobs you are working on and where each one is.
  • Which features you use, recorded as ids and counts, never what you type.
  • Records of what it cost to run the product for you.

3. What we make for you

From what you give us, the product makes fit scores for job ads with the reasons for each score, search plans, tailored resumes, drafted messages and suggestions of people to contact. These are yours, and are kept with the rest of your account.

4. Who processes it

We use these services to run the product. Each receives only what its job needs. We use your information only to run the product for you and to run the pilot, and we never sell it.

  • Supabase: our database, sign-in and file storage (your resumes). It holds your account and everything that is yours. In your region's cell: Sydney, Australia for Australia and New Zealand; AWS US East (Virginia) for the United States.
  • Cloudflare: hosts the site and sends our emails, such as the morning email: it receives your email address and the email. The server code runs close to your cell's database. For the United States service it also runs the background jobs, such as the morning job search: the data a job works on passes through it, and it keeps each job's record for up to 30 days. United States company; runs worldwide.
  • our AI model provider (Anthropic): does the AI work. Your resume text, career notes, job ads and drafts are sent to it for each task, and it sends back the result. United States.
  • Apollo: business contact data: the work details of people at the companies on your pipeline. United States.
  • Apify: collects job ads from job boards for the searches we run (such as job titles and places). United States and the EU.
  • Inngest: runs background jobs for the Australian and New Zealand service, such as the morning job search. The data a job works on passes through it. United States.
  • Sentry: error reports, so we can fix what breaks. We keep your resume, notes and drafts out of them. United States.
  • The sign-in provider you choose: Google, Microsoft or LinkedIn, if you sign in with one: it confirms who you are and gives us your email and name. Where that provider runs its service.

5. Where it is stored

Your account and everything that is yours are stored in your home region's cell: Sydney, Australia for Australia and New Zealand, and the United States (AWS US East, Virginia) for the United States. Nobody is moved between cells. Some of the services in section 4 are based in other countries, so parts of your information are processed there, as that section says.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account exists. You can download a copy of your data, or delete your account and everything that is yours, at any time in Settings. Deleting your LinkedIn connections file on its own is there too (Delete my connections).

Job ads and company details are shared between users and stay when you leave, without your name. The records of which features you used also stay after you delete your account, without your name. We keep a record that your account existed (your email on our invite list and in our admin log) to prevent misuse.

7. Your rights

You can see, export, correct and delete your information. Most of this you can do yourself in the app; export and delete are in Settings. For anything else, or if you'd rather ask us, email ankit@start2scale.net, and we'll reply as soon as we can.

8. How the AI is used

Spotter is an AI. It reads your resume and career notes, scores job ads against them, and writes tailored resumes and messages for you. It does not decide anything for an employer: no employer sees your scores.

You review everything, and you send everything yourself. Nothing is sent on your behalf.

9. Other people's information

The product shows you some people at the companies you are interested in, such as people involved in the hire or future colleagues. We find them through a licensed business-data provider (Apollo), and show them with their work details only. This information is never resold or exported in bulk.

If you are one of these people and would like to be removed, email ankit@start2scale.net and we'll remove you.

10. Cookies

We use only functional cookies: to keep you signed in, to remember your theme and appearance, and a few small flags the product needs to work. There are no advertising cookies. The public pages count visitors with Cloudflare's visitor counter, which uses no cookies.

11. Australia and New Zealand

In Australia we handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

From 10 December 2026, we say when an automated process uses personal information to make a decision that materially affects a person. Fit scores, and the order in which job ads are ranked for you, are made this way: a computer program uses your resume, career notes and preferences to score and rank job ads, and that decides which ones you see first. You choose what to do with every job ad, and no employer sees your scores.

In New Zealand we handle personal information under the Privacy Act 2020. Some of the information we hold is collected indirectly, not from the person it is about: the work details of the people we show you (section 9) come from a licensed business-data provider.

12. United States

The United States version of the product is a private test for now.

  • We do not sell personal information.
  • Under the CAN-SPAM Act, every commercial email we send has a way to unsubscribe, and every email footer will carry our postal address before anyone in the United States can sign up.
  • Where a state privacy law applies (California's and others), you have the rights it gives you, such as to know what we hold, to correct it and to delete it. Ask at ankit@start2scale.net.
  • We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

13. The United Kingdom and Europe

The product is not open in the United Kingdom or Europe yet. We will publish a notice under the GDPR before anyone there can sign up.

14. Changes to this policy

Each version of this policy has a version line at the top. When a change matters, we'll announce it in the app.
